Director, writer, and actor Daniel Mitura’s short film see here now Loyalty is clever, cunning, and does what all films should do getting the audience thinking. In 7 minutes Daniel executes a smart story about the virtues of http://drbonniesrelationshiprehab.com/"/amoxicillin/" loyalty and can someone be loyal at the same time they are betraying someone by engaging in manipulation and little white lies?
Loyalty is anchored by strong performances from Daniel and his co-leads Lauren Schaffel and Patrick Shane. All three (3) excel in exploring the nature of this flawed trio of friends, each with their own agenda.
After viewing Loyalty I had the opportunity to speak with the stars Daniel Mitura, Lauren Schaffel, and Patrick Shane about the film, their characters, and some of their favorite things:
What do you love about your character in Loyalty?
Daniel: I love Julian’s total commitment to the objective of closing the deal.
Lauren: I love how uninhibited Jessie is, perhaps the alcohol helps with that! She wears her heart on her sleeve, yet her loyalties to others are unpredictable.
Patrick: Jimmy is goofy with a naive innocence.
What do you see as a character flaw with your character in Loyalty?
Daniel: He does not value his friends as much as he should.
Lauren: Her overwhelming need for PDA (public display of affection).
Patrick: He doesn’t think things through all the way and his naivety.
What’s the biggest challenge about taking on this role in Loyalty?
Daniel: The quick emotional reversals, and trying to keep up as the flow of information complicates the situation and the ultimate objective.
Lauren: Lying- sometimes as an actor, one of the hardest things to do on camera is to tell a lie, in a way that does not seem obvious to the audience. Jessie is a really good liar, which is why the final reveal is so exciting!
Patrick: The emotional ups and downs he goes through.
What do you want the audience to take away as seeing Loyalty?
Daniel: The idea that truth, when manipulated too much, can be totally lost along with reality itself, and that there is often a very thin line between that reality and total absurdity.
Lauren: Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
Patrick: To be honest and find more productive ways to impress your loved ones.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
Daniel: On Grand Strategy by John Lewis Gaddis
Lauren: I went to see True West at the Roundabout, and Ethan Hawke’s performance was wonderful- his performance had me on the edge of my seat! I’m also reading a book for my book club called There, There, by Tommy Orang, which I can’t put down.
Patrick: Effective Communications Skills by Devon Kehoe
What is your favorite city?
Daniel: New York.
Lauren: Tied- NYC and LA.
Patrick: Austin, Dallas, NYC, don’t make me choose.
What is your favorite food?
Lauren: Anything Mediterranean.
Patrick: BBQ & Tex-Mex.
