http://duwestblog.org/thank-you/?share=google-plus-1 Investigation Discovery and Lincoln Square Productions’ original TV movie “Final Vision” premieres on Sunday, December 10 from 8–10pm EST. Immediately following “Final Vision” will be an enhanced encore presentation of “Jeffery MacDonald: People Magazine Investigates” at 10pm EST.
“Final Vision” is the fact based true-crime drama centering on the longest running criminal case in U.S. history. In 1979, nine years after the murders Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald was finally convicted of brutally murdering his pregnant wife and two young daughters in the middle of the night.
“Final Vision” is told through the perspective and experiences of best-selling author and journalist Joe McGinniss (Dave Annable “Brothers and Sisters”), who was approached by Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald (Scott Foley “Scandal”) in 1979 to write a book about his ongoing legal nightmare as he was about to go to trial. McGinniss traveled with MacDonald to North Carolina and worked with his legal team during the trial that lasted over three months.
Anchored with tour de force performances by Scott Foley (MacDonald) and Dave Annable (McGinniss) this TV movie is extremely well acted and not to be missed. Both actors completely inhabit their characters and transform themselves in the process. Foley gets inside the mind of MacDonald a man who firmly believes he is innocent and a victim. Annable uses McGinniss journalistic motivation to find the truth, whatever that may be to drive the story home. These two actors should be rewarded with Golden Globe® Nominations on Monday.
Investigation Discovery and Lincoln Square Productions’ do a great job at providing a tremendous amount of information to the viewers in less than two hours. The MacDonald Case is like a storage locker full with boxes that interconnect and need to be diagramed out with exact precision. The detail required in bringing that to screen is not for the faint of heart. “Final Vision”is Investigation Discovery’s second must see original scripted project in two weeks.
