BIO ON 1ST PLACE WINNER SHANTI BALSE´:
“I started shooting photography on the set of my brothers’ film, MONSOON. He handed me his camera. I had no idea that it would become something I would love so much. Once I started clicking away, I couldn’t stop. We shot in India around my father’s house in Mumbai. And India, being so colorful and mysterious, it is easy to get caught up in while taking photos. Everything is art once you start seeing thru the lens of the camera.
“I’ve been back to India several times since and traveled to Egypt, The UK, Mexico, Italy, France and many more places. I also shoot photos where I live, in and around Mendocino, CA.
“I am currently a senior member of The Artists Co-op Of Mendocino and have been a member for 7 years. Our gallery was established almost 30 years ago. We are privileged to live on such a beautiful planet that gives to us endlessly and consistently. I just shoot what inspires me…people and places.”
